Dear Public Rambler

We’ve come to the end of another season of public rambles. Once again, the year seems to have flown by so quickly since our first ramble to Garstang in March. We’ve been really lucky with the weather on our rambles this year; there have been no miserable rainy days and we had the exceptional hot weather this Summer. It will be another 5 months before we see each other again when our next programme restarts on 17th March 2019.

Next year’s programme of walks is shown below. The Committee has tried to offer a good spread of rambles within a reasonable distance of travel from Merseyside. We’ve chosen tried & tested popular destinations and those in bold print scored highly on the customers’ questionnaires. We’re sorry if your own favourite destination isn’t amongst them. We’re also returning to two places we’ve not visited for many years – Oswestry & Ulverston. We’ll do our best to ensure you have an enjoyable season of lovely walks in the countryside next year. In 2019, we are reverting back to 5 led walks. This is an attempt to get a more even number of ramblers on the lower grade walks, which have sometimes been oversubscribed this year.

If we have your home address, you will be sent a 2019 programme and booking form through the post in mid-January. If we don’t have your address, then give it to the Rambles’ Secretary if you want to receive a new programme in the post. Some customers may receive their programme by e-mail if this is the only contact address we have for you.

You can access the new 2019 walks programme and booking system on the public rambes website. The website address is: www.publicrambles.org.uk Rambles payments can also be made on line if you prefer to pay electronically. Details for bank transfer payments are given when you book on line.

If you have any comments on how the Rambles Committee or coach operator can improve the service next year, then please let us know so we can continually make your public excursions an enjoyable experience.

If you are interested in volunteering to lead walks or go onto the Committee then please speak to a member of Committee so we can consider your help next year. Training & support would be given to develop your leadership skills but you would have to become a member of the Ramblers Association to lead walks.

The Committee would like to thank all our customers for supporting the 2018 rambles. If you are going to miss your country walks during the winter months, then you should join the Ramblers Association and go out with one of the local groups from Wirral, Liverpool, St Helens or Southport. Details can be obtained from the Ramblers Association website or take a leaflet home with you today on how to become a member of the Ramblers.

The Public Rambles Committee wishes you all
A Happy Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year
